Tips to Healthier Living this summer
- Stay hydrated. With temperatures being so high outside, it is important to keep yourself hydrated with water and nutrients.
- Eat more fruits and vegetables. So many fresh fruits and vegetables are grown and sold in the summer that are full of healthy vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients your body needs to give you the energy to be active all summer.
- Exercise for at least an hour a day. There are no more excuses to stay in because of bad weather. Whether it’s taking a hike or riding your bike, almost anybody can find some form of exercise that is appropriate to their needs. Regular activity also improves people psychologically.
- Get your vitamin D. Vitamin D absorbs calcium which is a main building block to stronger bones. About 20-30 minutes of the sun a day gives you all of the vitamin D your body needs to boost your immune system and your bones.
- Keep your skin healthy. Consider using essential oils that are all-natural to protect yourself from dehydration.
Chiropractic Care for Recovery
Because the weather is so nice out, you may stay busy playing sports, swimming, going on hikes, and walking the neighborhood. As important as it is for your body to be active, it is also important to make sure you’re letting your body recover. Remember to see a chiropractor to keep your body healthy and functioning at a high level. Chiropractors specialize in spinal adjustments and massages that are designed to reduce inflammation, pain, and tension in your muscles. Chiropractors can help alleviate and prevent injuries by increasing joint mobility and aligning the spine. Your body is a system, which is why chiropractors treat the entire body and not just one area.
Due to the cold weather and all of the holidays in the winter, it is a perfect reason to eat unhealthy and stay inside with little physical activity. Now that the weather is getting warmer and there are a bunch of activities to do, it is the perfect time to start living healthier. With a few changes in your diet and more exercise, this summer is a great opportunity for you to live healthier and make it a summer to remember!
