Foot and Ankle Treatment

Stop Foot Pain at the Source: Structural Correction for Plantar Fasciitis & Sprains

Stop Padding the Pain. Correct the Mechanics.

Foot and Ankle Treatments

The Reality Check: Most people treat foot pain as a cushioning problem. You buy softer shoes, expensive custom orthotics, or gel inserts. But if your foot structure is mechanically misaligned, no amount of foam will fix it.

At Spine Spot Chiropractic, we don’t just treat the symptoms of foot pain. We treat the structure. Dr. James Fraser specializes in Extremity Adjusting, a precise method that restores the alignment of the 26 bones in your foot to eliminate pain at the source.

Why Standard Treatments Fail (The "Band-Aid" Effect)

If you’ve seen a podiatrist or PT, you’ve likely been given a boot, a brace, or an orthotic. While these tools offer support, they often fail to address the root cause: Subluxation (Misalignment).

  • Orthotics: They prop up a collapsed arch, but if the Navicular or Talus bone has dropped, the orthotic just jams into the misaligned bone, causing new pain.
  • Cortisone Shots: They reduce inflammation temporarily but weaken the tendon tissue over time, increasing the risk of rupture.
  • Rest & Ice: This manages the pain but does nothing to fix the mechanical dysfunction that caused it.

Our Approach: We set the bone first. Then we strengthen the foot.

Conditions We Treat Differently

1. Plantar Fasciitis (The "Morning Hobble")

The Common Myth: It’s just tight calves or inflammation. The Gonstead Reality: Often, the Calcaneus (Heel Bone)has tilted posteriorly, or the Navicular (Arch Bone) has dropped. This puts constant tension on the fascia, like a guitar string being pulled too tight. The Fix: We adjust the heel and arch bones back into neutral, instantly relieving the tension on the fascia.

2. Chronic Ankle Sprains

The Common Myth: "I just have weak ankles." The Gonstead Reality: After a sprain, the Talus bone often shifts forward. If it isn't set back, the ankle joint loses its range of motion and stability, making you prone to rolling it again and again. The Fix: A specific anterior-to-posterior adjustment to "seat" the Talus, restoring stability and preventing future sprains.

3. Morton’s Neuroma & Metatarsalgia

The Common Myth: You need surgery to cut the nerve or wider shoes. The Gonstead Reality: The Metatarsal heads(toe bones) have flattened, pinching the nerve between them. The Fix: We adjust the metatarsals to restore the transverse arch, opening up the space so the nerve can heal naturally.

The Kinetic Chain: It’s Not Just Your Foot

Your foot is the foundation of your entire skeleton. If your foundation is cracked, the house tilts.

  • Pronation (Flat Feet)  Internal Knee Rotation  ACL Stress & Knee Pain
  • Supination (High Arches)  External Hip Rotation  Sciatica & Low Back Pain

By correcting your feet, Dr. Fraser often resolves "mystery" knee and back pain that other therapies missed.

Treatment Options: More Than Just Adjustments

We combine structural correction with soft tissue therapy for faster healing.
